When talking about nature there are some factors or practices generated by nature itself that can change the population of animals, including squirrels, in an ecosystem. For example the availability of food, water, shelter, competition for resources and disease. These are called limit factors. 

Explanation:

There are some factors that can cause an increasement in a population. For example, the presence of more plants than usual can cause an increment of insects that eat those plants. But, this is not always good. Balance in nature is always the best. Predator and prey relationship is a fundamental topic in the balance of nature. If the loss of a natural predator arrives at an ecosystem overpopulation arrives too.  

Squirrels are in charge of the renewal of the forests. So for their survival a nice balance in mushrooms and seeds it's very important. <em>To sum up. Squirrels as many other animals in nature are constantly trying to survive among predators, diseases, lack of shelter, water, and food. these are the limit factors that a squirrel can find at its ecosystem.  </em>
