Answer:

The answer is B. Its language is sophisticated and formal.

Explanation:

I know this because i took the test, so i can assure you its correct. But just as an explanation, It is an informational website so it needs to be formal in order to be taken more seriously. More context clues are that it does not include first person point of view, slang, sentence fragments, or incorrect grammar.

The correct answer is A.

The language in this passage is informal and therefore appropriate for use on a website. A website is a place visited by people from various walks of lives and ages, with different level of intelligence and education. The language on an informational website has to be understood by all of them.

Formal language is used for writing for academic or professional purposes and should not be used here. Too much of a technical language may cause some problems with understanding the content and it can actually be a turn off for many people. An informational website can not use too much of humorous language either as its purpose is to provide information and not to entertain.

Informal language is easy to understand and spontaneous and its tone feels personal. This is the best type of language to use here as it is friendly, not too informative and the passage is written in a relaxed yet educational manner.

Hatshy [7]
Well actually "The Yellow Wallpaper" was centered around the idea of a woman's position in a marriage and her best practices during that time period. It was about the domestic functions of the wife i.e. produce an heir, clean the home, raise the children, cook dinner etc. The author basically wrote about the lack of psychological development for women kept in this state producing an almost childlike affect on their brains making them seem "ignorant" or "sick" or "insane"

Match the listening response that best identifies each of the given examples. Group of answer choices "Wow, it sounds like you h
denpristay [2]

I have found this question online. Every single sentence provided has the following options:

a. analyzing

b. evaluating

c. advising

d. supporting

e. empathizing

Answer:

"Wow, it sounds like you had a busy day." → e. empathizing

"I think you should go and talk to him about it." → c. advising

"I think she is behaving like that because she isn't feeling well." → a. analyzing

"That's a good point." → b. evaluating

"I remember when you had a similar situation, you did great." → d. supporting

Explanation:

There are several ways to respond when listening to someone speak. The first sentence above shows a response based on empathy, that is, on the ability of understanding what the other person is feeling.

The second sentence provides the interlocutor with a piece of advice, the speaker's opinion on what the other should do.

The third sentence shows an example of analysis, an attempt to consider different perspectives and variables concerning the situation.

The fourth sentence is an evaluation, that is, the speaker's thoughts concerning something. In this case, it is a positive or favorable evaluation.

Finally, the last sentence is an example of support, more specifically a compliment that can make the other feel seen and valued.
