Other than the Holocaust, what other hardships have Jewish people experienced in their existence?
Colt1911 [192]

The Jewish people, since they appear in the history seem to have lot of problems with the other people that lived around them, often being persecuted or enslaved.

Initially they have been enslaved by the Egyptians and were not in nice relations with them, saving themselves by the scratch, but ending up in a desert. After they settled in what is now Israel, they have been conquered by the Assyrians, and since they were rebellious, the Assyrians systemically misplaced them out of their homeland. After that came the Romans, and it was similar, as part of them was again moved forcefully in other places of the empire. The Muslim Caliphates showed no mercy toward them, and they were terrorized and forced to move away. Then they had troubles in Europe as well, especially with the Spanish inquisition where they were burned alive publicly or killed without any mercy.

At the same time, the population and the economy of the United States grew and changed dramatically. The population diversified as immigrants arrived from all countries of the world. From its beginnings as a remote English colony, the United States has developed the largest economy in the world. Throughout its history, the United States has faced struggles, both within the country—between various ethnic, religious, political, and economic groups—and with other nations. Which statement accurately describes what happened in a number of European countries in the 1800s as a result of the influence o
kolezko [41]

Answer: C) Nationalistic movements created upheaval in the traditional political and social order.

Explanation:

Since the French Revolution encompased ideals such as freedom, liberty and equality, the traditional social order of lords and subjects was seen as unequal and antiquated. Many popular protests and revolts took place in the middle of the century looking for social change and legislation so as to include a wider margin of the population in the process of desicion-making and governance, displacing the traditional aristocracy.

Moreover, Nationalistic movements sprung up all over Europe as people came to identify themselves by similar culture, tradition and language. This Nationalistic movements also shattered the traditional misconceptions of kingdoms as the now former subjects wished to govern themselves along the lines of what they considered to be their own nations.
