Find the area of the shaded regions.
Veronika [31]

Answer:

A = A_c-A_t=4\pi -8=4.5664cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the shaded region can be calculated as the area of the semicircle less the area of the right triangle.

The area of the right triangle can be calculated as:

A_t=\frac{b*h}{2} =\frac{LM*MN}{2}

Where LM and MN have the same length because the internal angles are L=45°, M=90°, and N=45°. So the area is:

A_t=\frac{4*4}{2}=8

The diameter of the circle can be calculated using the Pythagorean theorem as:

D=\sqrt{(LM)^2+(MN)^2} =\sqrt{4^2+4^4}=4\sqrt{2}

So, the radius is r=2\sqrt{2}

Finally, the area of the semicircle is:

A_c=\frac{\pi*r^2 }{2}=\frac{\pi*(2\sqrt{2})^2  }{2}=4\pi

So, the area of the shaded region is:

A = A_c-A_t=4\pi -8=4.5664cm^2

A recent article in the paper claims that business ethics are at an all-time low. Reporting on a recent sample, the paper clai
Savatey [412]

Answer:

P=0.3726 or 37.26%

Step-by-step explanation:

The success, with 41% of probability of occurring, is that the employee believes the company's president possesses low ethical standards. For more than 8 and less than 12 successes, it means the probability of having  9, 10 or  11 successes (all these summed).

The formula is:

b(x;n,p)= \ _nC_x*p^x*(1-p)^{n-x}

Where x is the number of successes,n the number of trials, p the probability of success,_nC_x refers to the combinations that can occur,  and it's formula is:

_nC_x=\frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

Calculating each case:

b(9,20,0.41)=\frac{20!}{9!(20-9)!}*0.41^9*(1-0.41)^{20-9}=0.1658

b(10,20,0.41)=\frac{20!}{10!(20-10)!}*0.41^{10}*(1-0.41)^{20-10}=0.1267

b(11,20,0.41)=\frac{20!}{11!(20-11)!}*0.41^{11}*(1-0.41)^{20-11}=0.0801

Adding each case:

P=0.1658+0.1267+0.0801= 0.3726

I have to study for a test. It's for data management. Does anyone have tips? (Grade 7)
Vinil7 [7]

Studying: Use resources.

If your studying for a test, use some resources, like quizizz, quizlet, flashcards, or the internet. If you do, ask your parents for help. Think it like its your big test, and your studying a lot. If you study and try, you'll pass the test on data management. If you need it, ask your teacher for tutoring or practice some data management questions. Studying will help you not to fail a test.

Now, we'll talk about before the test.

Before test: Rest, eat breakfast, and stay calm.

Step-by-step explanation: Going to bed before a test can prevent you from going to sleep. For example, GMAS (for me) is coming soon, and my teacher encourage us to rest, eat breakfast and stay calm. A recommended time for you to go to bed is 8:00-9:30.

Now, about breakfast.

Eating breakfast is also important because you can perform better, in fact, scientists say that if students eat breakfast before a test or exam, they will perform better! Whatever you do, don't skip breakfast. If you do, you won't perform good, and theirs a chance you could fail.

Now, staying calm is the big one.

If your freaking out, stay calm, say a prayer and get your work done! Staying calm is the big one because most students (I am one of them) get worried if they're gonna fail. Keep this in mind: <u>Try. Your. Best.</u> If you don't try, you won't achieve anything. And please don't cheat. If you cheat, you'll have to repeat the whole grade. Can't cheat in college; you'll get kicked out.

During test: DO. NOT. CHEAT.

CHEATING WILL GET YOU KICKED OUT OF COLLEGE AND YOU'LL AUTOMATICALLY FAIL!!! If your computer prevents you from going to other sites, that is good, but don't pull out ANY study guides or notes during your test, unless it's open-notes. If you don't know a questions, skip it and go to the next one. Then go back, it will come to mind later. If your done with your test early, check your answers. Look back and think, "Is this correct?"

Hope you do good on your test!

Two sides of a triangle
True [87]

step 1: open brackets n rmb to flip the signs

step 2 (optional): rearrange to make the equation clearer to add/minus

length of 3rd side:

(8x + 3) - (2x + 1) -(5x + 2)

= 8x + 3 - 2x -1 - 5x -2

= 8x -2x -5x +3 -1 -2

= x

Therefore, length of 3rd side is X cm.

---

If perimeter = 75cm,

8x +3 = 75

8x = 75-3

8x = 72

x = 9 cm

Therefore,

1st side = 2(9) +1

= 19 cm

2nd side = 5(9) +2

= 47 cm

3rd side = 9 cm
