Through the Quartering Act, passed on May 15, 1765 by the British Parliament, the British Crown imposed on the settlers the obligation to provide shelter and food to the 10,000 soldiers who arrived from the metropolis, first in barracks and public houses and then directly in their homes.
It was another means by which the crown tried to increase its control over the colonies and impose other measures such as taxes.
I believe its the <span>consist mountains thick with trees, rivers and poor rocky soil that was difficult to farm and unsuitable for crops. I hope this helps :)
