Contemporary means belonging in the present or occurring at the same time. 
Theatre, as we all know, is a collaborative form of fine art that involves live performers playing their parts on a stage in front of live audiences. 

Based on its definition, contemporary theatre present plays that represents the current situation in society. It continually evolve as society changes. Thus, it is not immune to global influences.
