The first epic is the story of a soldier who got lost at sea and sailed for many years before finding his way home. While he was

gone, his family struggled financially. Knowing how much their father valued his ancestors’ homeland, his children refused bribes of food and money offered in exchange for the land. They preferred to live humbly and proudly. Upon his return, their father’s joy was boundless, which pleased his sons and daughters. The second epic is the story of a great leader and prince who was banished from his home by an evil cousin. While traveling and living a simple life in the forest, the prince met and married a princess. Despite their royal backgrounds, neither of them minded living safely hidden in the forest. This humility saved their lives on a number of occasions, and their great happiness did not depend on living in a castle. When comparing these two myths, what qualities do both myth-tellers seem to value? physical strength and agility cleverness and wit humility and humbleness

The correct answer is humility and humbleness. We know this because in the first epic the author says the family lived "humbly and proudly". The second epic summary ends saying that "This humility saved their lives".

The difference between the words swarmed and assembled should give you a clue as to what the answer is. Swarmed means to move somewhere in large numbers, usually crowding around something of interest to get a closer look. Assembled means to gather together in one place for a particular reason. This is usually done in an orderly fashion.

Choose the correct literary era for each of the following excerpts from the marrow of tradition, a novel by Charles w. Chestnutt
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:  Post-recontruction era

Explanation:

Abandonment of Reconstruction has effect African-American writers to write about discrimination and justice. ''The Marrow of Tradition'' by Charles W. Chesnutt is published in 1901. and it is a historical novel about the Wilmington Insurrection of 1898 that happened in North Carolina, Wilmington.

It is a historical novel with a fictional account.

  • Since you didn't write down the excerpts from the novel, I hope that this would help. The author was African-American and he was also affected by Reconstruction at that time.
