Sharks are essential to the health of the ocean. They keep the food chain balanced, and they remove the sick and weak animals that might hurt the environment. By fishing for sharks you are giving less of a future to the ocean and it's life inside of it. Not only that, but fishing tools are one of the top polluters in the ocean.

Because of his feelings towards his family, Gulliver distanced himself from them. He instead spent his time with the horses, trying to recreate the feeling he had when he was still in Houyhnhnmland.
