Here, the spinal cord serves as the integrating center. It sends the motor information via motor neurons to the effector organs. This pathway followed by nerve impulses is called reflex arc in which the information is not sent to the brain for processing. This allows a quick generation of responses called reflexes. Touching a hot stove is sensed by the thermoreceptors of skin and the information follows the reflex arc to generate response.
