The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 was an act by President Lyndon Johnson. It aimed to bring education was the forefront of the “war on poverty”. It also aimed to establish equal access to quality education. Because of this, inner-city schools were benefited from the Act because those schools have a high percentage of students from low-income families.
