The Veteran's march on Washington was organized by veterans of World War I who were guaranteed bonuses for their service. Veterans demanded these bonuses early due to the onset of the Great Depression. This is why the veterans marched on Washington DC on July 28, 1932. The goal was to put pressure on the federal government to give them their bonuses early.

The Farmer's holiday was when farmers withheld their products/goods and called on citizens to not buy anything. The goal of this holiday was to get the attention of the federal government. At this time, thousands of farmers were struggling because of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl. Farmers needed financial assistance desperately and hoped the government would help during these tough times.
