What are 3 metaphors used in the play, "Inherit the wind" that represent religion?

I don't know if I can get three. It is important to understand that the play is actually about the supposedly irreconcilable differences between science and religion.

Two of the 3 central characters, Hornbeck and particularly Brady, are too flawed to represent well science and religion. Brady is a metaphor for all that is bad in religion. He is seen as a bigoted monster. He is overconfident and has a shallow understanding of the world. His wisdom, if he has any at all, comes from his misreading of the Bible. His understanding is further marred by his greed and his desire to win at any cost.

Hornbeck is no better. He's a walking stand up comic that moves the play along by being the comic relief. It's not part of your question so I'll just move along.

The Title itself is a metaphor for what religion can do. Jeremiah Brown is determined to undermine the truth that is at the core of the play. He goes so far in his denunciations, that even Brady can see that it is too far. Inherit the Wind comes from Proverbs 11:29 and it is well worth quoting that, because both Brown and Brady sow enough discord that they are those who will "inherit the wind." Brown actually does inherit the wind. He is left with nothing. His righteousness is barren and it has left him barren.

So here are the answers to your question.
1. Religion is seen not as Bert Cates saw it (A comfort), but as something that can lead to an inheritance of the wind.
2. Religion is seen as something shallow as seen through the eyes of Drummand when he studies Brady in the courtroom
3. Religion is seen as mindless when some of the townspeople welcome Brady.

What’s eastern life how does nick feel about it is he right
Igoryamba

This question refers to the book The Great Gatsby.

Nick is one of the main characters in this story, and he is also the narrator. We learn that Nick moved east from the Midwest in order to try his luck in New York. He wanted to become involved in the financial boom that was taking place during the 1920s.

Nick is initially impressed by the life of luxury and glamour that he witnesses in the city. This is particularly true in the case of his relative Daisy, and her acquaintances. However, as he becomes more involved with this society, he begins to see that people are actually quite superficial and false, and that their hedonism prevents them from forming any meaningful connection to anything and anyone. He is proven right many times in the story, such as when we learn about the superficiality of Daisy's attachment to Gatsby or the lack of concern that she shows for her daughter.

What does Jim come to understand near the end of the reading , in the paragraph that begins , " What do dey stan ' for ? "
lana [24]

Answer:

The best answer is the third option: "A paragraph break should come after the word Jim".

Explanation:

A dialogue is best organized when each speech is outlined paragraph by paragraph. After the first person speaks, it is best to keep the interlocutor's answer on the following line. This is why the best answer is the third option. This dialogue should look like the following:

"Hello. Let me introduce myself," he said. "I'm Jim."

"Pleased to meet you. I'm Ted," the man answered.

Eva8 [605]
The Oxford English Dictionary is best for finding the "Descriptive" meaning. This is the literal meaning, known also as denotative. It can also help you with figurative meanings, but it is not its primary purpose.
