Answer: Fossil records help provide clues to the history of Earth's organisms. They've have given scientists clues needed to determine a present day organism's ancestry by comparing them with fossils. Fossil records also show that life has evolved from simple to complex; for example, fossils deeper into the ground (older ones) are much more simple than the ones at the top (newer ones), again supporting the idea of evolution. Fossils additionally show us how behaviors have evolved, how long individuals lived, and how features evolved over time.

The food then goes through the jejunum and lleum where absorption of major nutrients as well as Vitamin B12 and bile salts into the blood stream begins.

The blood osmotic pressure of marine teleosts is about _____ mOsm _____ than the environmental osmotic pressure.
Feliz [49]

The blood osmotic pressure of marine teleosts is about 600 mOsm higher than the environmental osmotic pressure.

Osmotic pressure is the minimal pressure required to prevent the inward flow of a solution's pure solvent across a semipermeable membrane. It is also described as the measure of a solution's capacity to take a pure solvent through osmosis.

All freshwater organisms maintain hyperosmotic blood osmotic pressures in fresh water. Blood osmotic pressure in freshwater teleosts is 300 mOsm higher than freshwater osmotic pressure.

Teleost is most hyposmotic to seawater. Because marine teleosts are hyposmotic to saltwater, they experience osmotic loss of water and NaCl diffusional gain through the gill.
