Your answer is C taxation and representation it was mostly about the colonists didn't want to be tax also its not A because they wanted free trade so they could make more money selling and buying crops from other countries but that wasn't what the three-fifths compromise was talking about yes the colonist wanted free trade but that wasn't what THIS compromise was about its not B because they was no compromise about the branch's of powers they made separation of powers or checks and balances so that  neither branch can grow more powerful or overrule each other and when it came down to rather C, or D I choose C because the elections and the military had nothing to do with this compromise the elections where made by the magna carta to decide who will be president and the military is controlled by congress so that's what they are established in.                                                                                                      Your answer is C.
