Aaron Alpeoria Bradley was born into slavery but after he had escaped he became a lawyer. John Archibald Campbell was an American jurist and a successful lawyer. Henry McNeal Turner was a minister and politician, he was also the 12th bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. All of them were elected to the Georgia legislature in 1868.
