<em>The answer is </em>NO !!!

You must use partitive articles with things as food,that can't be quantified

<em>examples =</em>

<em>de l'eau = some water</em>

<em>du gâteau = some cake</em>

<em>du vin =some wine </em>

<em />

Je veux de l'eau = I want <u>some</u> water.

<em>BUT </em>Je veux un verre d'eau.

Veux-tu du vin ?. = Do you want <u>any </u>wine ?

<em>BUT </em>Veux-tu une bouteille de vin .

It's used as well after the verb "FAIRE"

je fais du foot = I play football

je fais de la guitare = I play the guitar

du = + masc. noun

de la = + fem noun

de l' = in front of a noun begining with a vowel <em>(elision)</em>
