Hi well it's pretty simple Hurricanes depend on warm ocean water to develop. The warmer the water is the more water vapor it produces and the more it warms the air directly above it. This warm moist air is essentially the fuel of a hurricane. The warmer the water the stronger a hurricane is likely to become. If a hurricane over cold water it will weaken and die.
