Read this excerpt from Anne Frank Remembered. People in the office asked to see Anne's diary. My answer was always "No. It's not

right. Even though it's the writings of a child, it's hers and it's her secret. I'll only return it back into her hands, and her hands alone." I was haunted by the fact that some more of Anne's pages remained cast around on the floor in the hiding place. I was afraid to go back up there, as Silberbauer had already checked on me several times. He'd just pop his head in, saying, "I'm just making sure you haven't gone." I said nothing by way of reply. He'd seen what he wanted, that I hadn't gone anywhere. He'd turn and leave. I was afraid to go behind the bookcase again. It was very hard for me to look at the rooms with the people gone. I couldn't face going back upstairs. Which line from the passage supports the theme "People's possessions deserve respect"? O "Even though it's the writings of a child, it's hers and it's her secret." O "I was haunted by the fact that some more of Anne's pages remained cast around on the floor in the hiding place." O "I was afraid to go back up there, as Silberbauer had already checked on me several times." O "It was very hard for me to look at the rooms with the people gone."

What excuse did Mr Easton make to say goodbye to the young girl?answer the question with reference to hearts and hands story
Sedbober [7]

Mr. Easton gave the excuse that Mr. Marshal wants to smoke therefore he must go with him as they were handcuffed. He said to her that it’s his duties and orders because of which he must leave.

The story “Hearts and Hands” by Edgar Allen Poe deals with the theme of outer appearance with which most of the people judge others. The story ends with the conclusion that appearances may be deceptive which alters the real self of a man. Since Mr. Marshal had a dull face and was not attractive because of which the girl got convinced that he was the prisoner. On the other hand, Mr. Easton looked attractive for Miss Fairchild. She wished to build a further relation with Mr. Easton but failed in doing so. Mr. Easton didn’t want his reality to be highlighted in front of her because of which he got off from the train.

Student drivers are required to keep a log of their supervised driving hours. However, not all students are diligent in their record-keeping.

The transition that should be used to combine these sentences is the following one: however. This adverb is used to introduce a statement that contrasts with or appears to contradict something that has been previously said.  In this case, you are saying that student drivers should keep a written record of their supervised driving hours yet you are also stating that not all of them do it thoroughly and well.
