Read this excerpt from Anne Frank Remembered. Suddenly, what had been familiar about this man's voice clicked in my mind. He was

speaking German with a distinct Viennese accent. He spoke exactly like all my relatives, the ones I had left so many years ago. This man came back into my office, but his tone was changing, and I could see that he no longer regarded me as an innocent. Obviously, he had figured out that I was also part of what had been secret. He came in and stood over me, saying, in a harsh voice, "Now it's your turn." He reached down and took the keys that Koophuis had given me. I stood up, coming face to face with this man. I could feel his hot breath, we were standing so close. I looked him right in the eye and said in German, "You are Viennese. I am from Vienna too." What is Miep’s motivation in this excerpt? She hopes to discuss her friends and family whom he might know. She hopes to win his sympathy through their common ground. She hopes to plan an escape with the officer’s connections in Austria. She hopes to recall pleasant memories from her youth abroad.

In my opinion, "<span>She hopes to win his sympathy through their common ground". She has found a connection with the man so she would try to use it in her favor, maybe that is how she might find some kind of "protection" because he would have found a similarity with her. And he might sympathize with her as well.</span>

CHAPTER XIV of The Innocents Abroad by Mark Twain At Pisa we climbed up to the top of the strangest structure the world has any
Firdavs [7]

The correct answers are B. To learn about traveling to Italy and D. TO learn about Mark Twain

Explanation:

In the excerpt, Mark Twain describes his experiences while visiting Italy; this includes a detailed description of the places he visited such as the Leaning Tower and the Duomo (cathedral), as well as his impression of the places. For example, in "makes your flesh creep, and convinces you for a single moment in spite of all your philosophy" Twain describes his thoughts and emotions when he tried to see the base of the leaning tower.

According to this, the two purposes that fit the content of this text are to learn about traveling to Italy because the text focuses on describing important touristic places in this country; and to learn about Mark Twain because the text is a memoir of Mark Twain, and therefore shows readers the life, emotions, and experiences of this writer.

5.fact

You can usually tell if something is an opinion if it has adjectives associated with it, expression how somebody feels about something, like “best, worst, most____, least____.” Something is a fact if it can be proven. For example, because number 4. says “from the fossils record,” if can be proven that the dinosaurs legs are the strongest by checking the record, making it a fact and not an opinion. Hope this helps
