The correct answer is: D). The heliocentric theory that proposed a sun centered universe was established.

Nicolaus Copernicus is one of the greatest figures from the Renaissance. He was born in Poland in 1743 and studied mathematics and astronomy. Copernicus refuted the idea that the Earth was the centre of the universe and developed the Heliocentric theory that states that the sun is the center of the universe and that planets revolve around it.

This was first presented eighteen centuries earlier by Aristarchus of Samos but it was Nicolaus Copernicus the one who developed the mathematical model of a heliocentric universe and dedicated his whole life to defend this theory.

How did the continental system influence subsequent events in Europe and around the world
irina1246 [14]

The Continental System was a decree by the Emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte which was made to limit British trade and bankrupt the country.

At his mightiest, Napoleon controlled almost every powerful country in Europe, except for Britain and Russia. He found it difficult to directly attack Britain and instead wanted to bankrupt it.

However, this eventually backfired and left France in a very bad economic conditions and Britain took advantage of this.

Many smaller countries that France had annexed, took up arms against Napoleon and began to fight. With a weakened economic position, Napoleon eventually lost the Empire.

Pork Barreling:

 • Refers to when a Member of Congress uses federal funds for projects in their district that aren't really needed
 • Is done to secure votes by pleasing voters

When these projects are founded in the district, they will create jobs for those in that district which ensures that those people will vote for the Member of Congress that brought the project.

What happens to the amount of money the government collects in taxes if unemployment is high? It is harder to collect. It stays
Serhud [2]

Answer:

If unemployment is high, the amount of money the government collects in taxes goes down.

Explanation:

Government is financed mainly through taxes that it collects both from citizens and businesses. When there is full employment or a low percentage of unemployment, there is higher income (with which higher tax burdens) and higher consumption (that is, higher taxes paid by companies). On the contrary, when there are high unemployment rates both the income of the citizenship and the sales of the companies decrease, so that the government collects less money.
