There are different aspects and important contrasts in the former daily lifes, and community characteristics between the two Inigenous groups.
1) The size of the tribes is an important aspect to highlight since the California ones were smaller compared to tribes of other regions in the United States, New Mexico included.
2) The Apache´s was and is an iconical New Mexico indigenous group, they had a unique way to communicate between them and with other New Mexico tribes, This special Athabaskan Language was called ¨Navajo¨, the California groups had their own ways to communicate, but not as elaborate and effective like the Apache´s with the Navajo´s language.
3) California´s tribes were more involved in religious rites and had a more representative cult between them called ¨Kuksu¨religion, these practices included elaborate narrative ceremonial dances and specific regalia in common basis, different than the New Mexico tribes, which were believers as well, but in less proportion.
4) The aliment practices between groups were similar, however, the New Mexico´s tribes were more into Hunting, thanks to their natural-born skills, after that was farming and growing domesticated plants, the opposite happened with California tribes, that hunted and used plenty of animal resources as well, but were focused mainly in farming.
