During a meteor shower, Kate counts how many meteors she sees each minute. During the first 5 minutes she sees 6, 4, 10, 3, and

7 meteors. If she sees 10 meteors in the next minute, how does this affect the mean of the data? How does seeing 10 affect the standard deviation of the data?

If Kate is measuring the average amount of meteors per minute, then having the ten in there compared to say the 4, it will create an uneven balance in the average, however if she is using a median or the other method, it will not greatly matter.

Answer:

46

Step-by-step explanation:

Just by common sense you can see there's difference of 4 in every value so you just add 4, four times in it to make 10 months.

9.27 repeating as a fraction
lisabon 2012 [21]
I rounded 9.27 repeating to 9.28 to make it easier to solve. It would be 232/25 as an improper fraction and 9 and 7/25 as a mixed number.

Show that 1n^ 3 + 2n + 3n ^2 is divisible by 2 and 3 for all positive integers n.
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

Prove:

Using mathemetical induction:

P(n) = n^{3}+2n+3n^{2}

for n=1

P(n)  = 1^{3}+2(1)+3(1)^{2} = 6

It is divisible by 2 and 3

Now, for n=k, n > 0

P(k) = k^{3}+2k+3k^{2}

Assuming P(k) is divisible by 2 and 3:

Now, for n=k+1:

P(k+1) = (k+1)^{3}+2(k+1)+3(k+1)^{2}

P(k+1) = k^{3}+3k^{2}+3k+1+2k+2+3k^{2}+6k+3

P(k+1) = P(k)+3(k^{2}+3k+2)

Since, we assumed that P(k) is divisible by 2 and 3, therefore, P(k+1) is also

divisible by 2 and 3.

Hence, by mathematical induction, P(n) = n^{3}+2n+3n^{2} is divisible by 2 and 3 for all positive integer n.

Given that ∫51f(x)dx=1,∫53 f(x)dx=3 and ∫61f(x)dx=9 find ∫63 f(x)dx.
ELEN [110]
\displaystyle\int_1^6=\int_1^5+\int_5^6\implies\int_5^6=9-1=8

\displaystyle\int_3^6=\int_3^5+\int_5^6=3+8=11
