Shay's Rebellion was the armed uprising of Shaysites, they were small farmers angered by the high debt and tax burdens. It started in 1786 and lasted till 1787. While the whiskey rebellion was by the settlers of Monongahela Valley of western Pennsylvania against the tax on distilled drinks and taxes on liquor. The US government-imposed taxes on spirits and distilled liquor to get rid of the debt caused by the American Revolutionary war. These taxes were imposed in 1791 and the rebellion started in 1794.
