Farmers use the chemical forchlorfenuron to improve the harvest of fruits.

EXPLANATION:

The use of this chemical is believed to bring the harvest forward by almost 2 weeks and also yields a bigger sized fruit.

The use of this chemical is done so as to get the produce early and sell it in the market at an asking price.

When fruits yielded by the use of this chemical ripen, they are big in size and are sold in the market before other fruits and therefore have no competition.

Thus to earn higher profits from the fruit harvest, farmers use the chemical. This chemical however can have adverse effects on fruit leading to bursting of the fruit.
