The Preamble of the United States writes as this:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

The purpose of the Preamble was to introduce the set of laws that would pave the way for America. Coming from a Monarchy, the Founding Fathers did not want their newly formed country to follow the same rules as Great Britain.

Hence, the Constitution was written to explain the idea that the people of the United States would have a say in the laws of the country, and well as explain the democracy America would soon become.
