It shows that Truman believed it was the only way how the war was about to end.

Explanation:

  • Nuclear bomb was never used before attack on Japan.
  • In that moment, United States was involved in war for almost four years.
  • Many soldiers died, a lot of resources engaged and Truman realized that the war needs to fast as soon as possible.
  • As Japan denied the capitulation, Truman believed that bombs are the only way to make them capitulate.
