'Discrete trial training' (DTT) is an important instructional method of teaching for children with 'Autism'. Teacher uses directions, and simple steps to teach the kid. Instead of teaching one skill in one go, skill is broken down and one step at a time is taught.
When the child gives correct response and imitates correct sound during a discrete trial, positive reinforcement should be given. It can be given either by praising the child verbally or by giving sweets.
