The main conflict of the novel seems to be a girl who is trying to cope with the negative outside world while being her own person at the same time. That struggle presents itself by hundreds of people putting hatred through to the family because they were standing for what was right. One example is: taking the case of Tom Robinson to be his defense. At the time, segregation was a huge problem, which led him to be hated. Another example is that he kept defending Tom no matter what, always pushing forward about defending him to keep his honor.
