What is the solution to the system of equations below?
yarga [219]

Answer:

x = -2, y = 1

Explanation:

Finding X:

3x + 4y = -2

2x - 4y = -8

      5x = -10

   5x/5 = -10/5

        x = -2

Why: Using the elimination method, you can eliminate 4y and -4y since they are opposites. Then its an addition problem; 3x plus 2x is 5x. -2 plus -8 is -10. From there it's "junk and divide"

Finding Y:

2(-2) - 4y = -8

    -4 -4y = -8

   +4          +4

        -4y = -4

    -4y/-4 = -4/-4

             y = 1

Why: Because you found that x = -2, you can then plug it in one of the equations. From there its simple "junk and divide". Hope this helps this took a long time to type lol.

Read the excerpt from Julius Caesar, act 1, scene 2.
patriot [66]

The correct answer is 4: Cassius cannot believe that a weakling like Caesar has become so great. Cassius complains of being forced to bow before Caesar (he "must bend his body If Caesar carelessly but nod on him"), and the fact that Caesar has suffered from fevers and seizures makes his submission to him all the more enraging. Cassius does not believe himself to be less than any other man, much less one who has such weak health.
