It also tells them that if the other people did not get treated fairly, then it will continue, and eventually, even we, (the Americans) will not be treated fairly or with justice.</em>

He is trying to tell that the issue of peace is everyone’s concern.  It is their duty to help others if they expect the same kind of help in the future.  He was urging the American people that the time for isolation is at an end and they must make a choice for it is only a matter of time before this war will come at their doorsteps.
