john mccain served in the us army and fought in vietnam. there he was tortured & was prisoner of war from 1967 and 1973. no matter your opinion on sentor mccain respect the fact that he fought for his country. he is a war hero. period.

Answer: Yes because McCain was taken prisoner of war on October 26, 1967. He was flying his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam, when his A-4E Skyhawk was shot down by a missile over Hanoi.
