Feudalism existed before the middle age. Only Nobility and Peasant class were the two social systems which were prevailing. After, the middle age, it was an era of Renaissance. A new social class which was called middle class emerged. It included Craftsmen, Apprentice, Clergy and small traders.

Peasants were mostly serfs or poor farmers who were owned by their manor. They tilled and ploughed the lands of their Manor and they were paid for it. Peasant’ life was greatly influenced by the manors. They did not move out of their village and they were confined to only toiling in lands and they participated in religious celebrations by visiting churches.

Social development saw rapid rise of urbanization. Many peasants saw themselves who could not fit in the any class of the society. They protested and migrated to towns. Many peasants were killed in catastrophes like Black Death and pandemics which left landlord devoid of labor. This disparity made the farmers to revolt.
