The answer is D) because In order for any multicellular organisms to evolve, the cells within that organism MUST specialize and cooperate, bind together somehow, and form a protective outer sheath. That sheath is like your skin. All cells have like pairs of chromosomes whether they are unicellular organisms or multicellular. A characteristic of all living things is the presence of genetic material.
