Answer:

Daimyo

Explanation:

During the Tokugawa Shogunate, the shogun was effectively the ruler of Japan. This gave shogun enormous power and authority. Just below the shogun, we find the daimyo. The daimyo was a feudal lord who owned large amounts of land. They were considered vassals of the shogun, and usually employed large armies of samurai to protect themselves and their property. Daimyo and shogun were extremely powerful until the early Meiji period.

What caused the Sepoy Mutiny?
anyanavicka [17]
There were a few causes for the Sepoy Mutiny, such as the reduction of remunerations given to soldiers in the British Indian Army if they were to fight in foreign countries, which were less than the remunerations they would receive if they were fighting in India. Another reason was the issue of promotion, because many Indian officers would not receive a commissioned rank until they were too old to fight, because of the influx of European soldiers in the army. There was also a general feeling about discontent of having to fight in regions the soldiers were not familiar with.
