Arachne believed her skills were as good as Athena's. Athena herd about this and challenged her to see who could make the better tapestry. Arachne's skills were equal to Athena's. Although her tapestry was offensive to the Gods so Athena turned her into a spider so that for the rest of her life she can weave webs.<span />
