Political and social trends- due to the political climate of new England, colonists were ready to get active and choose sides, hopping on the bandwagon sometimes out of necessity, especially when revolution was discussed 
Geographical and business development- a sure fire way to solidify the establishment of the new country was the actually settling of the aliens, and the adaptions they made in order to sustain life in this new country 
the boston massacre- this was the breaking point of where revolution to break away from the leadership of the Brits' was imminent
