If the equations have the same slope for example y=4x+2 AND y=4x+3 have the smae slope of 4/1, making them parallel but if the don't have the same slope for example y=2x+3 and y=4x+4 then they are not parallel

If a spreading boundary occurred on land instead of the ocean floor what woud be the long term result
Inessa05 [86]
The long term result would be that the region where it has occurred will split and the two parts will move away from each other, the growing gap between them will be filled with water which in time will become sea, there will be significant climate changes, the one part that'll be moving into more isolated position will make life forms on it to evolve in a specific way and they will become very unique in time.

Why are landslides considered erosion?
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

Landslide also called as Landslip, is physical displacement of geomaterials, it is natural / man induced and causes removal or erosion of the part of land.

Explanation:

  • A landslide is a form of mass wasting including a wide range of ground movements including debris fall, slope failure, and mudflows.
  • Some landslides occur under oceans called as submarine landslides. Gravity is a prime driving force, and some are associated with earthquakes and rainfall.
  • Physical and chemical weathering also takes place as a result of the landslides as it erodes the surface of the object whatever it comes in contact with.
  • Landslides caused by humans have led to Deforestation, blasts in mining and vibrations from machinery, and habitat loss.
  • Landslides occurring at greater depths have the potential to trigger large Tsunamis and destroy natural harbors.
  • Landslides characterized by debris flows are full of mud, soil rocks that move with great speed and are often hazardous.
