The legalization of slavery led to a population that was almost fifty percent enslaved people. This is how the population in Georgia changed after it became a royal colony.

Georgia was the last colony to join the original thirteen.  Prior to become a royal colony in 1752, Georgia was a trustee colony, in other words, it was governed by a board of directors.  When Georgia was a Royal Colony, it was theoricaly administered by the king of England but in practice by a member of his cabinet known at various times as secretary of state for the Southern Department and secretary for America.
