The spectrophotometer really measures the percent of light that is transmitted through the solution. The instrument then convert
Fynjy0 [20]
The absorbance and transmittance are related by the equation written below:

A = 2 - log(%T)
where
A is the absorbance
T is the transmittance

Substituting A=0.85, we can solve for %T:

0.85  = 2 - log(%T)
%T = 14.13%

Therefore, at this specific wavelength, 14.13% of the light is transmitted through the solution. The rest are absorbed.

1What happens to the curve when the standard deviation is increased? What does that do to the area under the curve?
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

Z score is a score used in mathematics to determine by how many standard deviations the raw score is above or below the mean. The z score is given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}\\\\where\ x=raw\ score, \mu=mean,\sigma=standard\ deviation. \\\\For\ a\ sample\ size(n):\\\\  z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma/\sqrt{n} }

The area under the curve is dependent on the z score. The higher the z score, the higher the area under curve and the lower the z score, the lower the area under curve.

a) The area under curve (z score) is inversely proportional to the standard deviation. If the standard deviation is increased, the z score decreases thereby reducing the area under the curve.

b) If the standard deviation is decreased, the z score increases thereby increasing the area under the curve.

A: That is a double negative and doesn't really help anyone.
B: Marriage has nothing to do with that, neither would a reduce in it necessarily be a good thing.
C: Again this isn't something that really matters, they wouldn't fund something just to loose twice what they gave away in the first place.

That is my reasoning. Good luck! Have an awesome day.
