I doubt we will ever truly know whether dragons existed. There may always be two sides to the fiery debate. Some will say the st

ories come from active imaginations. Some will believe with all their hearts that the legendary creatures roamed our ancient world. I don't know for certain which side to believe, but the sound and fury of a night like this makes me smile. It rekindles my childhood dreams and keeps the exciting possibility alive. In paragraph 5, the author discusses two sides to the dragon debate. Which statement best summarizes the ideas in the paragraph? The author implicitly states that she believes that dragons once existed. The author explicitly states that she believes that dragons once existed. The author implicitly states that she believes that dragons did not exist. The author explicitly states that she believes that dragons did not exist.

Rasek [7]

Answer:

The excerpt suggests that Johnson’s work is significant because it reflects considerable literary research.

Explanation:

The excerpt tells us how the author did a profound research on many literary works. He explains that he took information from every descipline he could in order to collect as many words as he could. As it was a profound research, the information given is very valuable, this allows us to read multiple and complex definitions of each word.

This dictionary was published in London in 1755, it included a history of the language, a grammar, and an extensive list of words representing basic general vocabulary.

As you can see, it was a valuable literary research that could influence the way people used language. Some terms that were unknown for a lot o people became accesible.
