It effected parliament because colonists started to boycott things they made their minds that they won't by any goods from Brittain which brought the British parliament expenses also it follows the Boston massacre which all this led to the revolutionary and civil war

What I can tell you is that the states were divided on whether or not to fully slave or not slave. The compromise was a draft that said a thin line across a certain state would balance out the number of slave state to the number of free states.
