The Kitchen Cabinet was a name adopted by political opponents of President of the United States Andrew Jackson to explain his ginger society, the group of unofficial advisors he discussed in correspondence to the United States Cabinet following his removal of the assembly at the end of the Eaton case and his break with Vice President John C. Calhoun in 1831. In 1831 he left his cabinet post, as did Secretary of War John Eaton, in order to give Jackson a cause to re-order his cabinet and replace Calhoun associates.
