Which type of cutting developed the roots first? Did any of your plants not develop roots if so which ones?
yarga [219]

Answer:

Please read the explanation section.

Explanation:

Req - a)

Cutting of plants is a technique that is used in horticulture for the asexual reproduction of plants. Mainly stem cutting or root cutting is done for this purpose. Among these two, stem cutting is the better one, and it produces roots first. The four main types of stem cuttings are herbaceous, softwood, semi-hardwood, and hardwood. Among these four, the semi-hardwood cutting produces the roots first.

Developing roots in plants is dependent on various factors. Without a proper experiment, the explanation is not possible for this section.

Req. b)

Usually, the addition of rooting compounds reduces the time of developing roots. Rooting compounds are mainly added to increase the growth of the roots.

The rooting solution can be prepared by dissolving an aspirin in water. It will help the roots to get their proper nutrition to grow.

Without an experiment, it's not possible to identify any significant changes in root growth by adding a rooting compound.

Usually, the rooting compound doesn't make any difference in the length of the roots.

Without an experiment, it's not possible to say whether it affected the root lengths or not.

Req. c)

There are many reasons behind the asexual reproduction of plants. Among them, the most important three are:

1. To reproduce plants with the same characteristics as the parent plant.

2. To produce those plants which don't provide any seed.

3. To avoid unwanted variation in plants. It means, when any plant is produced sexually, variation can be done by any means. Such as pollinators can bear different plant pollen, which can make variations. But, in asexual reproduction, this type of problem isn't found.

Req. d)

When any research happens, the time duration is a fundamental fact because there is a specific time duration for every research. Now, if the motive of the research is cutting a stem and then growing a plant from that stem, rooting is must be needed. Now, if the rooting process takes too much time, it becomes challenging to complete the research within the allocated time. So, for this purpose, the rooting medium is applied so that it can reduce the time of rooting.

Req. e)

Rooting medium is always applied to only one of each set and not to all of the plants because, if it is applied in all plants, there won't be any possibility to find out the difference. In that case, all pants would grow at the same rates means the rooting time of all plants would be the same.

Without experiment, its not possible to say whether the rooting medium was applied in all plants of a set or not.

Req. f)

1. Mold.

2. Lack of Water.

3. Lack of sunlight.

4. Dirt with poor nutrients.

These four are general environmental factors that usually hindered plants from developing roots.

Without proper experiment, its not possible to say that except these four reasons, whether there was any further reason or not to hinder the plants from developing roots.

Req. g)

Requirement 1:

Organisms that can reproduce asexually with kingdom:

1. Bacteria (Monera)

2. Hydras (Animalia)

3. Black-worms/Mud-Worms (Annelida)

4. Copperheads Snakes. (Animalia)

5. Strawberries. (Plantae)

Requirement 2:

Methods of asexual reproduction of these five organisms:

1. Bacteria (Binary fission): All bacteria reproduce by binary fission.

2. Hydras (Budding): Hydras reproduce asexually by "budding." 3. Black-worms/Mud-Worms (Fragmentation): Black-worms can break apart, and each considerable fragments can become a new worm. They can reproduce sexually too.

4. Copperheads Snakes. (Parthenogenesis): Copperhead snakes, can reproduce asexually as an alternative way to their typical sexual reproduction. In this type of parthenogenesis, the polar body, or a cell produced alongside the female's egg, which acts as a sperm cell and essentially "fertilizes" the egg.

5. Strawberries. (Vegetative Reproduction): In vegetative propagation, plant tissues and organs are reproduced from another part of the plant, and a new organism can be produced.

Req. h)

Some most important disadvantages of asexual reproduction are given below:

1. Diversity is limited in asexual reproduction.

2. Population numbers can be challenging to control in asexual reproduction.

3. Overcrowding can become an issue.

4. Reproduction can create competition in asexual reproduction.

5. Any change can eliminate an entire species.

Req. i)

These are no true for sexual reproduction because; in sexual reproduction, variation in any species can occur. If variation occurs, it can improve the species sometimes, which protects them from being extinct in sexual reproduction. Population numbers can be controlled because, during the time of planting seed (sexual reproductive material), it is possible to determine the population no before planting.

________ synapses make it more likely that a neuron will send its message to other neurons, whereas ________ synapses make it le
frozen [14]
In brain chemistry, synapses are very important. Synapses have a number of different forms but have two basic varieties:. excitatory and inhibitory. Excitatory synapses make it more likely that a neuron will send its message to other neurons, whereas inhibitory synapses make it less likely that a neuron will send its message.

Which of the following best describes what happens to an enzyme after it catalyzes a chemical reaction?
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

The correct option is B. It is unchanged and can be used for the same chemical reaction.

Explanation:

Enzymes can be described as proteins which act as biological catalysts. Enzymes can speed up a reaction. During this process, the enzyme itself doesn't get consumed and hence, it can be reused. Enzymes are specific for a particular type of substrate and hence, they can catalyze only those reactions for which they are specific. Hence, option B is correct.

Other options like option A is not correct because the mass of an enzyme will not change after a reaction.
