The correct answer is C. The most popular contact sport among boys is football, but some boys also like playing hockey

Explanation:

In speeches and texts, a claim is a statement that shows the position someone has towards some issue, in this case, the claim is "Girls should be given the same opportunity to play contact sports as their male counterparts", which means the author of this claim supports the idea girls have the opportunity to play contact sports. Additionally, for this claim or any claim to be valid, it is necessary relevant evidence that proves and explains the claim, also, this claim should directly address and support the claim. Considering this, the statement that is not relevant or least relevant to this claim is "The most popular contact sport among boys is football, but some boys also like playing hockey", because the information about the sports boys prefers does not support the main claim as it does not prove why girls should play contact sports, which makes this evidence ineffective and the least relevant.

Critical Thinking Questions unit 8 (creative writing)
Fofino [41]

The rewriting of the following critiques into more positive and productive critical thoughts are:

 • The language is short and can do well with better construction
 • The metaphors used are good but can be better and more expressive
 • You have a good storyline, but it would be great if you would add some variety
 • You need to select a central message and center your writing around it.
 • Your plot needs to be clear and direct.

What is a Critique?

This refers to the critical assessment of a work, usually a literary work to show and analyze the content of the book to commend or criticize with the aim to improve.

Hence, we can see that the purpose of a rough draft for writers is to help you get the information out in an easy-to-read and understand manner and to write your ideas down before you go back and fill in with more details later.

The things that can be said to a peer or editor that gave you especially harsh and negative feedback on a piece of your writing that would help guide them in terms of writing future critiques are:

 • Let them know their words were harsh
 • Mention that they can convey their displeasure in ways that would be kinder
 • Explain how you felt about the criticism and how you considered throwing your entire piece out

In at least 150 words, explain how Romeo's motivation for killing Tybalt relates to the themes of the play?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare tells a story about the warring families, Montagues and Capulets. The confrontation between them ultimately contributes to Romeo and Juliet's death.

In Act III, Scene I, there is a sword fight in which Romeo's friend Mercutio is killed by Tybalt, Juliet's first cousin. Although Mercutio and Romeo are not blood relatives, this can be interpreted as another instance of a conflict between the Capulets and Montagues. This conflict, and the fatal repercussions it has on Romeo and Juliet's relationship, is one of the major themes in the play.

Romeo, tempted to defend his friend's honor, kills Tybalt, his new wife's cousin, which triggers a series of unfortunate events - Romeo is banished, and eventually ends up dead (so does Juliet.) This demonstrates that Romeo is impulsive and cannot restrain himself from this desire to defend his family, even when he is aware that no good will come out of it. Romeo knows that if he kills Tybalt, his relationship with Juliet will have no future. However, his anger prevails.
