Which phrase from paragraph 5 BEST shows why the speaker is excited when the friends reach the downtown area?
Virty [35]

A phrase is a group of words that stand together as a grammatical unit. The  phrase from paragraph 5 that BEST shows why the speaker is excited when the friends reach the downtown area is;

  • "Because some of L.A.’s hottest restaurants are located just outside of the Staples Center;"

As they reach the downtown area, the speaker's excitement increases. This is because she knows that some of the hottest restaurants in Los Angeles are located outside the Staples Center which is the downtown area.

She feels that Jayson was taking her to one of those restaurants, thus her excitement.

So, the phrase in the bullet point above reveals why the speaker is excited.

What do we mean whenwe say plural form of noun
Nostrana [21]

One person, place or thing is a singular noun. Having more than one things, or having multiple people or places, that's referring to plural nouns.

For example,

  • One school = singular
  • Two schools = plural

We simply add s to the end of the noun for a lot of cases to make it a plural form. Though sometimes you'll have something like this

  • One cross = singular
  • Two crosses = plural

Note how we add on 'es' instead of simply 's'. This is so won't have a string of 's' letters at the end, and it adds on another syllable as well.

Some nouns are the same whether singular or plural. Such examples are

  • fish
  • deer
  • sheep

So you could say something like "I caught one fish yesterday" or "The biologist estimates there are about 200 fish in the lake".
