Though they are rare today, the most common form of rule in world history has been : (monarchy/dictatorship)
LuckyWell [14K]

The most common form of rule in world history has been monarchy (from the Greek monos, "one," and arche, "power"). It is an unipersonal, hereditary and lifelong form of government. The Head of State is the king (or queen), the prince or the emperor. Although monarchy was at first absolute (the ruler had absolute or total power), it then evolved into a limited form (the ruler needed the help of the most powerful members of society) and finally into a constitutional form (the ruler is primarily a symbolic figure and the nation is governed by a parliament).

At present, the monarchy is the form of government of a few countries around the world, such as Spain, England, Japan and Denmark, to name a few.

Why did the authors of the Articles of Confederation create a weak central government?
V125BC [204]

C. To preserve the independence of the states

Further Explanation:-

The Articles of Confederation was the agreement within the 13 States of USA which were part of the first constitution. Once all 13 states gave their approval in regards to The Articles of Confederation, it was implemented and it came into force 1781. This article clearly showed that there was distrust among the people of United States of America in regards to a strong central government within the country which takes all the actions and makes all the laws for the welfare of the country and it was the start of ‘American Revolution” another issue which these Articles had was the lack of judiciary became problem as there were issues between states and they always stood against each other in courts as if one verdict came in a case against one state then that state would not accept that verdict. This problem was seen by the people who made the constitution and wanted to make all states to work with each other, Articles of Confederation needed to be changed or scrapped completely which was last done. Articles of Confederation lasted for a period of 8 years and were replaced by the current constitution of the United States in the year 1789.

What was one major outcome of the North winning the U.S. Civil War?
Strike441 [17]

One of the major outcomes of the North winning the U.S. Civil War was the abolition of Slavery.

After the war broke out, through a legal maneuver the Union general Benjamin Butler, stated that any slave who came into "Union possession" were considered contraband of war, and because of this, they were not subject to be returned to their original owners, the Confederates. And as a result the word was spread and soon many slaves sought refuge in the Union territory in order to be declared as "contraband".

Later general Butler's interpretation was reinforced by the Confiscation Act of 1861, which stated that any Confederate military's property, including slaves, could be confiscated by Union forces.

And finally, due to the Emancipation Proclamation issued on January 1st, 1863, in a single stroke over 3 million slaves in designated areas of the Confederacy changed their legal status and were recognized by the U.S. government as free people.
