Hey Ziana,

The purpose of a text connection is to give the reader an opportunity to relate to the story or the text.

For example: After reading a book, I can be like, "Wow, this book or this passage in the book reminds me of my vacation to Hawaii, or it reminds me of my childhood. Got the idea? Great!

What weighs more? One ton of rocks or one ton of feathers?
Sloan [31]
One ton of rocks and one ton of feathers weigh the same. The word that makes both weights the same is the word ton. The weight measurement of ton has a specific number. What differs is if we count the number of feathers and number of rocks to achieve a one ton weight, there's a lesser number of rocks compared to feathers because a rock is always heavier than a feather.

storchak [24]

Answer:

A bribe is to persuade someone with money into doing whatever you desire them to.

Explanation:

Using context clues, "guards" are people who protect something, they didn't have the "money to pay them" so they were looking to pay money to the guards in exchange for a favor therefore we can assume that is the definition of a bribe.
