Answer:

B. The ceremony of innocence is drowned.

Explanation:

Before the white missionaries came, Okonkwo's village and the people were unaware of the outside lifestyle. They function within their own ways, traditions and customs. With the arrival of the European missionaries there began a divide among the people. When he thought that his people will join him in an uprising against the European missionaries, they did not. This made him realize that not everything is the same and that they are no longer the warring men they used to be. They have become influenced by the Europeans. He ended up hanging himself. This shows or rather suggests that the innocence that was within his village and people has been drowned.

Yes, help me, Torvald. Promise that you will! I am so nervous about it — all the people — . You must give yourself up to me entirely this evening. Not the tiniest bit of business — you mustn't even take a pen in your hand. Will you promise, Torvald dear?

HELMER.

I promise. This evening I will be wholly and absolutely at your service, you helpless little mortal. Ah, by the way, first of all I will just — (Goes toward the hall-door.)
