Grendel could be said to be a modern-day monster due to the fact he has multiple facets to his personality, and displays human characteristics. In a way, it is these recognisable elements of the character that make Grendel more terrifying, because we can recognise elements of ourselves in him.

Olin [163]

Answer:

Something I hear a lot is "their smile is contagious." This isn't meant in a literal way, but it means that being around someone who's smiling makes you want to smile too. Humans are very social creatures, and so we reflect each other's emotions in order to build relationships and bonds with each other. Sometimes this can negatively affect relationships. For example, if one friend is always sad, the other friend might find it hard to be happy around that friend. Since being sad all the time is a negative feeling, this negative feeling will be associated with the friend that's always sad, which will damage their relationship.

Answer:

Our first cycling stage in Holland will be a 38 mile (60km) ride from Bunnik to Amsterdam via Hilversum. Bunnik lies in the very center of the Netherlands, surrounded by rolling woodland meandering rivers and fields of tulips. For part of the journey we’ll be cycling alongside the ‘Crooked Rhine’ river. Admittedly the looping bends will slow us down a bit, but in the later stages there are several long straights on which we’ll be able to make up time.
