As a result of Olympia's growing population, the government created the Washington Territory.

In 1846, Edmund Sylvester and Levi Smith claimed the territory that now corresponds to the city center. In 1851, the US Congress established a customs for the northern area of Oregon in the Puget Sound, becoming this city in the center of customs. The population began to grow thanks to the numerous immigrants who followed the path of Oregon. As early as 1853, with the creation of the Washington Territory as a result of the increasing population, the city officially became known as Olympia.

How did Portugal gain an advantage in trading in comparison to other European nations?
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

Through different methods.

Explanation:

1. Portugal's location helped them a lot, they had easy access to the Mediterranean. Their fishermen gave a lot of information on the behaviors of the Atlantic, which in turn gave the Portuguese essential knowledge on how to train their sailors, how to perform their deep sea exploration, and things to document about their history.

2. Their ships. Each of the ships they sailed gave them a better understanding of the conditions required for safe travel across water.

3. Last but not least, religion. Jewish people driven out of Spain took refuge in Portugal and spread their beliefs, which received a small degree of persecution, yet still managed to root its place in Portugal, and serve as its advantage in trading with a wider range of countries.

nekit [7.7K]
<span>In September 1957 the school board in Little rock, Arkansas, won a court order to admit nine African American students to Central High a school with 2,000 white students. The governor ordered troops from Arkansas National Guard to prevent them from entering the school. The next day as the National Guard troops surrounded the school, an angry white mob joined the troops to protest the integration plan and to intimidate the AA students trying to register. The mob violence pushed Eisenhower's patience to the breaking point. He immediately ordered the US Army to send troops to Little Rock to protect and escort them for the full school year.
